Fire Protection
Engineers and Consultants apply science and engineering principles
to protect life, property, business operations, and the environment
from fire. Rooted in disciplines such as mechanical, civil, structural,
electrical, and chemical engineering they work in teams to apply
cutting edge research tools to address the various challenges
of the ever-changing global environment.
Fire Protection
Engineers design egress systems based on human behavior and protective
components such as fire sprinkler and alarm systems, exit and
smoke control systems. They engineer safe buildings and facilities
using the latest principles of fire protection design.
Fire Protection
Consultants provide code compliance studies and system evaluations,
evaluate building life safety issues and provide fire protection
master planning. They perform risk analyses of major industrial
facilities and consult with architects on buildings ranging from
high rise structures to hospitals, hotels and sports venues.
CAD Designing
Computer-aided design
or CAD designers are responsible for all stages of the creative
process, which includes client consultation, drafting and presentation
of the finished design. CAD Designers review Engineering drawings
and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications
and code standards. They receive instruction and guidelines from
lead Engineers or CAD Leaders to perform the functions required
by each project.
Administrative
Assistants
As the reliance
on technology continues to expand, the role of the office professional
has greatly evolved. Administrative assistants perform such tasks
as: create spreadsheets, compose correspondence and manage databases.
They also create presentations, reports, and documents using
various business software and programs. They are aided in these
tasks by a variety of office equipment, such as photocopiers,
scanners, fax machines, and video-conferencing and telephone
systems. Administrative assistants provide training and orientation
for new staff, conduct research on the Internet, and operate
and troubleshoot office technologies. Administrative assistants
work with all members of the staff in order to support each project
through to its completion.
